Safety FAQ

  • At On The Road Kayak Rentals, we take the safety of our clients very seriously. Please watch our beginners guide to kayaking here. We include lifejackets with every rental and strongly encourage you to wear them.

  • Boating under the influence of alcohol, or drugs is illegal. It is also a danger to yourself and others. Intoxication makes it difficult to control your vessel and react to unexpected situations. If you are caught, you may be subject to fines for unsafe behaviour.

  • Immediately call 911. If there is any health related incident, think of yourself first. Do not worry about paying a damage deposit for the kayak or a late fee if somebody needs to go to the hospital. Health comes first. Please let us know if there was a health related incident that involves any of your group members. We are flexible and will be able to work out a plan.

  • Please watch this demonstrative video on how to secure the kayak to the roof rack.
